We are proud to update our Carbon Reduction Plan, demonstrating and publicly confirming our commitments to tackle climate change.
We became Carbon Negative in 2020 and continue to reduce our carbon emissions over time. In parallel, we continue to offset our emissions to maintain our Carbon Negative position.
Our Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standards for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
We will report our emissions annually, demonstrating our progress to achieving Net Zero.
i10 is a member of the SME climate hub, recognised by the United Nations Race to Zero campaign – making i10 one of 2,600 SMEs across 84 countries to have committed to achieving net-zero emissions by no later than 2050.
But we felt that 2050 was too late to deliver on these commitments, so in 2021, we became net zero for that financial year. In March 2022, we went further – backdated our carbon offset to the year we were founded in 2004. To achieve this, we worked with Ecologi, a community and platform for climate action that is funding a huge range of leading climate solutions. At the time of writing, we have planted a total of 66,600 trees and achieved 191 tonnes of carbon reduction. You can track our progress here: https://ecologi.com/i10
We believe this makes us one of the most sustainable SMEs in the UK.
